Kim Junsu ceases to prove his innocence in the extortion case; fans are left divided
Kim Junsu of JYJ was recently exposed as having been the victim of extortion. During 101 incidents between September 2020 and October 2024, an Afreeca streamer is accused of extorting more than ₩800 million KRW (about $569,000 USD) from Kim Junsu.
According to investigations, the streamer threatened to make audio recordings of discussions containing sexual content public after meeting Kim Junsu in 2019 and demanded payment in return.
Junsu addressed the matter by claiming to be a victim in messages to his supporters. “That’s why I made up my mind. They were eventually arrested after the police concluded that the crime was serious, and they are currently undergoing a detention review. Yes, I should have done it sooner, but I knew articles about this weren’t going to be good for us. But I do wonder if the news title they chose was their best option. But I am confident. I have done nothing wrong and this is about something from five years ago. Since then, I thought that even something like this was my fault and didn’t meet anyone. Since we can only know the intention of someone after it’s been exposed…so it’s been five years since I promised myself that I wouldn’t meet anyone unless it was for business…”
- Honestly I can’t understand how he paid ₩800 million KRW (approximately $569,000 USD) to her over five years just due to some audio files of them having sex.
- But if he did nothing wrong, why did he give her ₩800 million KRW (approximately $569,000 USD)? I’m truly curious!
- I don’t know him well because I’m uninterested, but he does seem like quite the floozy in various ways.
- Ha.
- Did he only report it after sending her money last month, because she got caught for doing drugs?
- It’s not even a video, but just an audio file, so I wonder what he did for him to give her ₩800 million KRW (approximately $569,000 USD).
- ₩800 million KRW (approximately $569,000 USD) is pretty huge, but for him to pay her 101 times…
In addition to the public, fans have voiced their support for him in the hope that the issue would be handled quickly.
