King Charles III: King Charles III to resume royal duties amid cancer treatment

King Charles III : King Charles III, who had some of his royal duties cut back after being diagnosed with cancer earlier this year, will resume a full schedule during his treatment from 2025, Buckingham Palace said this weekend. A senior palace official told reporters at the conclusion of The Emperor's tour to Australia and Samoa that the 75-year-old emperor was looking forward to returning to regular engagements and foreign travel after a successful visit. “We are now working on a normal-looking full overseas tour schedule for next year, which is a high standard for us, knowing that we will be able to meet those expectations,” the official told The Sunday Times. “The conditions can be considered, subject to being signed off by the doctors.”

“I think it's a great testament to the king's dedication to service and duty that he was willing to come this far and that he was incredibly happy and very determined to do so,” the official said.

The visit to Australia with his wife, Queen Camilla, was the king's first major trip since the palace confirmed in February that he was suffering from an undisclosed form of cancer. Initially, the tour was also supposed to cover New Zealand, which was removed from the schedule on the advice of doctors.
