For this, besides launching new cars, updates will also be made in the existing models, and Renault Triber will play an important role in this.

New 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine

Renault Triber was launched in India in 2019 and became popular due to its affordable price, 7-seater layout and spacious space. The car is currently powered by a 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, which is available with manual and AMT gearboxes. However, many customers complained that the engine loses power at full load.

To make up for this shortcoming, the company is now preparing to offer a new 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine. This engine will produce around 99 bhp of power and 160 Nm of torque. It is likely to get manual and CVT gearbox options. The new Triber is expected to be launched during the festive season this year.

Turbo engine and dual-CNG combination

Demand for CNG cars is increasing rapidly in India due to rising fuel prices and stringent regulations. Currently the Triber is fitted with a dealer-level CNG kit, which only comes with a manual gearbox. Now the company is gearing up to bring a factory-fitted CNG version.

The highlight is the underbody dual-CNG tank setup, which won’t compromise boot space. The new Triber can be offered with a dual-CNG option along with the turbo petrol engine. Hence, consumers will get the double benefit of higher power along with lower running cost.

Improved features due to new platform

Based on the new RGEP platform, the Triber is expected to offer more safety, modern features and an improved driving experience. The platform has been specially designed to fit the CNG tank underneath, thereby maintaining the vehicle’s space and practicality.
