Kiren Rijiju lashed out at Congress over Ambedkar controversy, said – Rahul Gandhi and his family should not keep Babasaheb's picture.
New Delhi : Accusing the Congress of harassing Bharat Ratna Baba Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar, Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju on Saturday (December 21) said that Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi and his party should not keep Ambedkar's photograph. Because it does not suit his party. There is no one in Congress who can convince Rahul Gandhi. People should tell Rahul Gandhi that BR Ambedkar's picture and a copy of the Constitution do not look good in his hands.
From the time of Pandit Nehru till today, Congress has insulted the Constitution. He tortured BR Ambedkar. Babasaheb has been chased away. I told everyone in Maharashtra that in 1951, when Babasaheb had resigned from the post of Law Minister, he wanted to contest the Lok Sabha elections and become an MP once again, but the Congress was on a mission mode to defeat Babasaheb Ambedkar in the elections. But then in the by-elections, the Congress party hatched a conspiracy and used all its strength to defeat Babasaheb. Why did they do this? Despite all this, they did not even give Bharat Ratna to Babasaheb.
What did Kiren Rijiju say?
I said in Parliament, Nehru ji himself had given him Bharat Ratna but he did not give Bharat Ratna to Babasaheb. Babasaheb received Bharat Ratna in 1990. Thinking of Rahul Gandhi and Congress The Union Minister also said that the government wants cooperation from the opposition to run the House properly. We are very open to all the discussions that we have already asked for and have appealed to the opposition parties to join the House and run it because it is a collective effort. The government keeps the bills and the business and the timeline and everything to run the House. But cooperation of the opposition party is necessary.
Congress parties should realize that the people of India have voted for members to perform in Parliament and not to display their physical strength and hurt other MPs. The Congress party should come to its senses. “I have apologized to the Congress party and Rahul Gandhi for insulting the Constitution, damaging BR Ambedkar's legacy and hurting MPs for many things,” he said.
Congress party had announced nationwide protests

All party MPs (MPs) and Central Working Committee (CWC) members are also going to hold press conferences on December 22 (Sunday) and December 23 (Monday) on Shah's comments. The march will begin with the garlanding of a statue of Ambedkar and continue till the submission of a memorandum in his honor by the District Magistrate (DM).

During the winter session of Parliament, India Bloc MPs held several protests following Home Minister Amit Shah's remarks in Parliament on December 18 criticizing the Congress for making it fashionable to invoke Ambedkar's name. It was said that if he had taken the name of God so many times instead of Ambedkar, he would have got heaven.
Congress targeted BJP and Shah
The Congress hit out at the BJP and Shah, demanding his apology and resignation for his statement, calling it an insult to Ambedkar. During the protests in Parliament, the BJP led a parallel protest with the Congress and accused the BJP of insulting the legacy of India's first Law Minister. There was a clash in the Parliament complex during the protests between the two parties, in which two BJP MPs Pratap Sarangi and Mukesh Rajput were injured. Apart from this, Mallikarjun Kharge alleged that he was also pushed.
