Kiren Rijiju Ultimatum Rahul Gandhi: Sharp fight in Lok Sabha

The budget session of Parliament witnessed a heated debate between the ruling party and the opposition regarding the India-US trade agreement (Kiren Rijiju Ultimatum Rahul Gandhi). leader of opposition Rahul Gandhi Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju got enraged at the statement of ‘selling the country’ and directly gave an ultimatum – prove the allegation, otherwise apologise.

Rahul Gandhi’s allegation

Speaking in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi raised serious questions on the proposed trade agreement between India and America. He alleged that the agreement is against India’s interests and the government has tied the country to the “yoke of America”.

Rahul Gandhi said farmers’ interests and the country’s data were being put at stake, even as he used strong words like “selling Mother India”. He also claimed that data of Indian citizens was being used to prop up the US dollar.

Kiran Rijiju’s strong counterattack

Kiren Rijiju stood up amidst Rahul Gandhi’s statement and rejected the allegations outright. He said that no one can sell or buy this country, and described Prime Minister Narendra Modi as one of the strongest Prime Ministers the country has ever had (Kiren Rijiju Ultimatum Rahul Gandhi). Rijiju said that baseless allegations that mislead the House will not be tolerated.

‘Prove it, or apologize’

Rijiju directly challenged the Leader of Opposition and said that it is his responsibility to present concrete evidence of the allegations made in the House. He alleged that Rahul Gandhi makes allegations and leaves the House without listening to the replies of the ministers, which is against parliamentary decorum.

Privilege motion warning

The Union Minister also announced that if Rahul Gandhi does not apologize for his statement or prove the allegations by 5 pm, the government will bring a Privilege Motion (Kiren Rijiju Ultimatum Rahul Gandhi) against him. According to Rijiju, the rules of Parliament are clear – notice and proof are required before accusing a member.

He also said that Rahul Gandhi also made allegations against Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri without notice. This confrontation in the Lok Sabha is indicating further intensity of political debate in the coming days on both the trade deal and parliamentary conduct.
