News India Live, Digital Desk: The aroma of coriander in the kitchen doubles the taste of food. But coriander available from the market often withers quickly or there is a fear of pesticides in it. Do you know that you can grow a lot of green coriander in a small pot on the balcony or window of your house? Let us know the easiest and effective way to grow coriander at home. Things needed for preparation: Coriander seeds: You can use whole coriander seeds available in the kitchen. Pot: At least 6-8 inches deep and wide pot (with drainage holes). Soil: A mixture of fertile soil and cowdung manure (or vermicompost). 5 easy steps to grow coriander (Step-by-Step Guide)1. Seed Preparation: Instead of sowing whole coriander directly, break it into two parts by rubbing it gently. Be careful not to crush the seeds, just break them into two pieces. Due to this, germination occurs quickly. Now soak these seeds in water overnight.2. Prepare Soil Mix: Prepare a good mixture by adding 40% manure to the soil. The soil should be such that water does not stagnate. Fill the pot with soil and leave some empty space on top.3. Sowing Method: Sprinkle prepared seeds on the surface of the soil. Now add a thin layer of half inch soil on top of them. Do not bury the seeds too deeply, otherwise they will not be able to germinate.4. Watering & Sun: After sowing, give light water from spray bottle. Coriander needs 3-4 hours of sunlight daily. Do not keep it in too strong sunlight, otherwise the leaves may get burnt. There should always be moisture in the soil, but do not allow it to become muddy.5. Harvesting time: Small plants will start emerging in about 10-15 days. When the plant reaches 4-6 inches tall, you can start harvesting the leaves. Remember, always cut the outer leaves so that new coriander grows from the center. Expert Tips for growing coriander densely: Do not allow crowding: If the plants have grown too close, remove some plants so that the rest have space to grow. Selection of time: Spring and autumn are the best seasons to grow coriander. A pinch of ash: If the soil is infested with insects, sprinkle a little wood ash.
