Bill passed with majority
Pakistan's ruling Muslim League party lawmaker Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman introduced a new bill, which was passed with a majority. He says that the main objective of this law is to increase the safety of people and reduce the dangers associated with kite flying.
Trying to strike a balance between tradition
In fact, the decision to impose a permanent ban on kite flying in Punjab is an attempt to strike a balance between safety and tradition. On one hand this law takes into account people's safety, while on the other hand it prevents a favorite cultural activity. Public feedback on the impact of this law and its implementation will be important.
