KKR and BCCI face to face in the case of Bangladeshi cricketer Mustafizur Rahman, know the reason

New Delhi. Bangladesh fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman will no longer be able to participate in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026. Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Secretary Devjit Saikia confirmed this while talking to India Today. Saikia said that in view of the current circumstances, BCCI has directed Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) to release Bangladeshi player Mustafizur Rahman from its squad.

Devjit Saikia also made it clear that if the KKR team wants to include any other player in his place, then BCCI will allow it. Mustafizur Rahman was added to their team by Kolkata Knight Riders for Rs 9.20 crore in the mini auction for IPL 2026.

After including Mustafizur Rahman in the team, KKR is facing a lot of criticism on social media. Along with the fans, some politicians and saints had raised questions on the Bangladeshi player playing in the IPL. Sheikh Hasina government fell in August 2024, after which political instability has increased in Bangladesh and many violent incidents have come to light. After the recent brutal murder of two Hindus, there is protest against Bangladesh in the entire country.
