KKR fans outraged as mentor Dwayne Bravo attends CSK event amid growing injury woes
KKR fans have expressed their frustration after mentor Dwayne Bravo was seen at a Chennai Super Kings fan event, coinciding with a critical period for Kolkata Knight Riders as they deal with an ongoing injury crisis.
Clips and images of Bravo enjoying the event quickly went viral on social media, drawing criticism from the KKR fanbase. Many questioned whether he is serious about his job during the crucial pre-season phase.
The timing of the appearance only intensified concerns. With multiple key players sidelined, fans expected the coaching staff to focus entirely on fitness management and bowling preparations. Instead, Bravo’s attendance at a rival franchise’s event, which featured both past and current CSK players and a live performance by AR Rahman left many supporters irritated.
KKR’s injury list is significant. Lead pacer Harshit Rana is expected to miss the majority of the season, while Akash Deep’s status remains uncertain. Matheesha Pathirana is not fit, though head coach Abhishek Nayar indicated he could be available from mid-April. Nayar added that the team is evaluating options but the decision-makers have not finalised replacements.

Social media reactions were immediate. Some fans joked that Bravo has been “hijacked” by CSK, while others called him a “spy” for the rival team. Fans also highlighted that KKR are already short of players and now lacks the full focus of a mentor, with some suggesting that CSK should sign Bravo permanently.

Not all responses were negative, however. CSK supporters welcomed Bravo’s presence, with one noting that champions never leave the den and expressing joy at seeing him back in yellow, ending with the franchise’s popular cheer, Whistle Podu.
Bravo, who spent several successful seasons with CSK as a player before joining KKR’s support staff, now faces questions over his loyalty. With KKR’s injury challenges already under scrutiny, his appearance at a rival franchise event has sparked a debate about focus and priorities within the team.
