Rinku Singh gets big responsibility in KKR, big decision of the team from IPL 2026

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) has appointed all-rounder Rinku Singh as the vice-captain of the team ahead of the Indian Premier League (2026). The franchise gave its official information on Tuesday (24 March). The command of the team is in the hands of Ajinkya Rahane.

Last year, Venkatesh Iyer was made the vice-captain of KKR, but after disappointing performance the franchise released him. This opened the way for Rinku to become an important member of the leadership group.

Before the IPL 2025 auction, KKR retained Rinku for Rs 13 crore. KKR will begin their IPL 2026 season against five-time champions Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium on March 29.

Rinku was recently a part of the victorious Indian team of T20 World Cup 2026. Rinku has been playing for KKR since the 2018 season. He has played 59 matches for KKR, in which he has scored 1,099 runs at an average of 30.53.
