Another big bid from KKR, bought Baby Malinga ‘Mathisha Pathirana’

IPL 2026 Auction Live: Bidding on players has started in the IPL 2026 Player Mini Auction. Out of the 369 shortlisted players, 77 players are going to be auctioned in this auction, and the total auction purse is Rs 237.55 crore. Meanwhile, KKR have made two big bids and included Australian all-rounders Cameron Green and Baby Malinga in their camp. With this, New Zealand wicketkeeper Finn Allen has been bought by KKR for Rs 2 crore.

KKR’s Rs 24.80 crore bid for Cameron Green made him the most expensive foreign player in the IPL auction. CSK eventually walked out of the bid at Rs 25.20 crore and KKR bought Green at a record price. Apart from this, Mathisha Pathirana, whose base price was Rs 2 crore. Initially Delhi Capitals bid for him. Lucknow Super Giants also entered the field and the match became exciting. The bidding reached Rs 10 crore with DC being the second highest bid of the day so far. LSG was about to buy him for around Rs 16 crore when KKR also joined the bid. LSG backed out, and KKR bought Pathirana for Rs 18 crore.
