A woman at the stands of the Eden Gardens Stadium in Kolkata was seen blowing a flying kiss seemingly to Ajinkya Rahane after a bizarre shot in the IPL 2026 game against the Lucknow Super Giants on April 9, Thursday. In a video surfaced on social media, the woman was seen blowing a kiss after Rahane lost control of his bat and the ball still went comfortably for a maximum.

LSG skipper Rishabh Pant is often known for losing control his bat while playing a big shot but Rahane did it on this occasion. The incident occurred in the ninth over of the innings sent down by Avesh Khan, who bowled a back of a length delivery outside off. The right-handed batter slashed hard at it but the willow went behind the wicket. Nevertheless, it had enough power on it to go beyond the rope.

Rahane was eventually dismissed by Digvesh Rathi for 41 off 24 deliveries as Mohammed Shami took a low catch.
Rishabh Pant wins toss and puts Kolkata Knight Riders into bat at the Eden Gardens
Super Giants skipper Pant had won the toss and sent the Knight Riders into bat. While the tourists made no changes to their XI, Kolkata tweaked their XI, drafting in Sunil Narine for Blessing Muzarabani. Varun Chakravarthy, who missed the game against the Punjab Kings, continues to recover from the hand injury.
