KKR vs SRH: Will Cameron Green Bowl in IPL 2026? Aussie All-Rounder Rolls Arm in Nets After Ajinkya Rahane’s ‘Ask CA’ Remark

Kolkata Knight Riders and Australian all-rounder Cameron Green seems to be getting ready to roll his arms in IPL 2026 after skipper Ajinkya Rahane’s candid statement following the game against the Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium. The seam-bowling all-rounder was seen bowling at full tilt in the nets at the Eden Gardens Stadium ahead of the game against the SunRisers Hyderabad on April 2, Thursday.

What did Ajinkya Rahane’s say about Cameron Green’s bowling after MI vs KKR IPL 2026 match?

Although the Knight Riders had made 220 after the Mumbai Indians sent them into bat, the hosts gunned it down easily, thanks to the explosive 148-run opening partnership between Rohit Sharma and Ryan Rickelton. With all the bowlers Vaibhav Arora, Blessing Muzarabani, Varun Chakravarthy, Kartik Tyagi and Sunil Narine going expensive without troubling the batters much, the big question was about why Green did not bowl. When asked by the host broadcaster after the game, Rahane said the question has to be asked to Cricket Australia, creating a lot of buzz.

However, Green was seen bowling at the nets on Wednesday as the video shows below:

“We always consider best-case scenarios” – Abhishek Nayar on buying Cameron Green

Knight Riders’ head coach Abhishek Sharma addressed the acquisition of Green by suggesting that he seemed to them like the next- best all-rounder after Andre Russell, who has retired from IPL and become their power coach. Nayar said in the presser, as quoted by The Hindustan Times:

“We always consider best-case scenarios. Yes, you want backups; you pick players who do certain things. But when we went into the auction, very simple. If Russ wasn’t there, who is the next best all-rounder that we felt in the world and could add a lot of value and could take that Russell legacy forward in a different role? We felt Cameron can do that for us.”

Meanwhile, the SunRisers are also looking to bounce back from a hammering at the hands of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the IPL 2026 opener. Pat Cummins will yet again be unavailable for the Orange Army.
