KL Rahul and David Miller top the list of chasing batsmen with highest average in IPL
Delhi Capitals (DC) star batsmen David Miller and KL Rahul top the list of players batting with the highest average during chasing in the Indian Premier League (IPL). This figure is taken from among the 231 batsmen who have batted at least 10 times in the IPL Chase.
Miller has scored 1,816 runs in 67 innings, with an average of 49.08 and strike rate of 142.54. This includes 12 half-centuries and one century. At the same time, Rahul has scored 2,636 runs in 66 innings, his average is 47.92 and strike rate is 138.22, which includes 25 half-centuries.
Both these batsmen have become important pillars of the team’s batting structure for DC in IPL 2026. However, Rahul’s brilliant 92-run innings and Miller’s struggle went in vain as DC suffered a defeat by just one run against Gujarat Titans (GT) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Wednesday.
DC chose to bowl first, and with the help of innings from Gujarat Titans captain Shubman Gill (70 runs off 45 balls, 4 boundaries, and 5 sixes), Washington Sundar (55 runs off 32 balls, 6 boundaries, and 2 sixes), and Jos Buttler (52 runs off 27 balls, 3 boundaries, and 5 sixes), GT scored 210/4.
With the help of Rahul’s explosive innings of 92 runs (11 boundaries and 4 sixes in 52 balls), Pathum Nissanka (41 runs in 24 balls, 6 boundaries and 1 six) and Miller (41* in 20 balls, 3 boundaries and 3 sixes), Delhi tried to get closer to the match.
In a thrilling IPL 2026 encounter, Gujarat Titans defeated Delhi Capitals by just one run. Miller missed Prasidh Krishna on the final ball, and GT wicketkeeper Jos Buttler ran out Kuldeep Yadav with a brilliant direct hit, giving the Titans a dramatic win.
After this match, DC is now fourth on the table, with two wins and one loss, while GT has dropped to sixth, with one win and two losses.
