KL Rahul missed century against RCB, but made many records Gujarati
Bangalore: Delhi Capitals continued their winning campaign in IPL 2025 by defeating Royal Challengers Bangalore by six wickets on Thursday. KL Rahul played an important role in Delhi’s fourth consecutive victory. He played an unbeaten inning of 93 runs in 53 balls with the help of seven fours and six sixes. Rahul has been in great form for some time now. His run that started with the Champions Trophy is still going on. Even in the Champions Trophy, Rahul played the role of match finisher very well. Now he is doing the same work for Delhi Capitals also. His decision to remove the pressure of captaincy and join the new team has been right. His statistics in successful run chases are also impressive. He was also declared player of the match.
Batting first, RCB scored 163 runs losing seven wickets in 20 overs. In reply, Delhi lost two wickets for 10 runs at one point in the third over. Then Rahul came to bat. However, after that Abhishek Porel and Sukani Akshar Patel were also out cheaply. Delhi had lost four wickets in 58 runs. After this, Rahul, along with Tristan Stubbs, initially batted cautiously and focused on rotating the strike. Once his eyes were steady, he started playing shots freely. After 14 overs, Delhi’s score was 99 runs for four wickets.
After this Rahul directly engaged fifth gear. He scored 22 runs in the 15th over. Seeing him playing shots freely, Stubbs also started hitting. 13 runs were scored in the 16th over and 12 runs were scored in the 17th over. With this, Delhi’s score reached 146 runs for four wickets. Rahul completed the match in the 18th over. He ended the match by hitting a sixer. After that he celebrated his victory in style. In fact, Bengaluru is his hometown and after eight innings on the home ground, he gave a befitting reply to his old team Lakhanou.
Rahul had made an unbeaten partnership of 111 runs with Stubbs. This is the biggest partnership for Delhi Capitals for the fifth wicket or less. Earlier this record was in the name of JP Duminy and Ross Taylor. He also made an unbeaten 110-run partnership against RCB in Sharjah in 2014. Rahul’s unbeaten inning of 93 runs is the second highest innings by a Delhi batsman against RCB. Earlier in 2016, Quinton de Kock (then in Delhi team) had played an inning of 108 runs against RCB in Bengaluru. Stubbs remained unbeaten scoring 38 runs in 23 balls with the help of four fours and one six.
