Knesset medal to PM Modi, museum tour in car with Netanyahu
Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Israel has taken a new turn. After a historic speech in the Knesset, the Israeli parliament, he was awarded the highest honor and then drove to a technology exhibition in the same car with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. PM Modi himself shared the photo of this rare moment on social media.
Modi’s address at the Knesset in Jerusalem was the first for an Indian Prime Minister. Immediately after the speech, Speaker Amir Ohana presented him with the ‘Speaker of the Knesset Medal’, the parliament’s highest civilian honour.
In his address, Modi described this honor as a symbol of the unbreakable friendship between India and Israel. He emphasized the shared values of both democracies—innovation, security and progress. The caption of the photo read, ‘After the speech in the Knesset, PM Netanyahu and I are going to an exhibition showcasing technological progress.’
This honor gives a new height to Modi’s global credibility. Remember, in 2018 he received Palestine’s Grand Collar Award, which is the biggest foreign honor there. Thus he joined the rare ranks of leaders who received recognition from both ends of the region.
The visit focuses on enhancing cooperation in defence, agriculture, water management and hi-tech sectors. This joint journey with Netanyahu not only reflects personal closeness, but also signals the strength of the strategic partnership. Bigger agreements are possible in the coming days.
