Jalgaon. A major accident occurred with the passengers of Pushpak Express going from Lucknow to Mumbai on Wednesday, January 22 in Jalgaon district of Maharashtra. Rumors of fire spread in the train, the chain was pulled and the passengers got worried and suddenly started jumping from the train. In such a situation, the train coming on the adjacent track crushed many passengers. According to the information received, 13 people lost their lives in the incident. Of these 13 people, 8 have been identified. The bodies of three others were completely mutilated and their identity is yet to be ascertained. There are obstacles in identification due to missing heads of some bodies and other body parts among the dead.

A case has been registered at Pachora Police Station in connection with the railway accident in Jalgaon district. A case of accidental death has been registered under Section 194 at Pachora City Police Station. This registration has been done on the complaint of the Sub Inspector of Police of Pachora Police Station. Now a new update related to this matter has come out. A passenger present on the train at the time of the accident said that a tea seller had spread the rumor about the fire in the train. An eyewitness to the accident said that a tea vendor spread a rumor that the train was on fire. After this, there was an atmosphere of chaos inside the train. The tea seller himself pulled the chain. When the train started slowing down, passengers started jumping from the train to save their lives.
The eyewitness further said that some people jumped onto the track where the Bangalore Express was passing and were crushed to death. Hundreds of people jumped to the other side, where there was no track. If they had jumped on this side, even more people would have been killed.

On this accident, Deputy CM Ajit Pawar told how the accident happened? Who spread the rumour? Giving information about this incident, Ajit Pawar said that 'Pushpak Express was coming towards Mumbai, when a tea seller of kitchen wagon near Pachora spread the rumor of fire. Hearing this, Udalkumar and Vijaykumar, who were traveling in the train, jumped out of the moving train out of fear.

Railway Board has announced an ex-gratia of Rs 1.5 lakh each to the families of the deceased, Rs 50,000 each to the seriously injured and Rs 5,000 to those with minor injuries.
