1 cup green moong dal

4 spoons low fat curd

2 teaspoon fruit salt

1 cup spinach

2 teaspoon asafoetida

salt as required

Step 1 Soak the Moong Dal

To make this snack dish, first wash the lentils until the water runs clear. Soak it in a bowl of water for 3-4 hours. When it is cooked, filter the lentils and remove excess water from it. Meanwhile, chop green chillies and spinach leaves.

Step 2 Add other ingredients and mix well

Now, add the drained lentils along with curd, spinach, green chillies and water in a blender. Blend to make a smooth mixture. Pour the mixture into a bowl. Add asafoetida, salt and prepared spinach-curd mixture in the bowl and mix well. Add fruit salt also.

Step 3 Steam the Batter

Take a deep cylindrical vessel and fill it half with water. Tie a muslin cloth on it and let the water boil. One by one pour a portion of the batter (just like idli) on the cloth. Do not add too much batter at a time, add only 4-5 portions. Place a lid on the vessel and steam the batter for 6-9 minutes.

Step 4 Serve hot

When the first batch of Pandoli is cooked, take them out in a plate and repeat the same process to make the second Pandoli. Serve the prepared Pandoli immediately.
