Kohli, Siraj steal the show

On second Day of India’s match simulation in Perth for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) 2024-25, head coach Gautam Gambhir took India’s veteran players at the WACA stadium.

Shubman Gill got ruled out of the first Test due to a thumb fracture, where Abhimanyu Easwaran was the contender to open the innings if Rohit Sharma does not reach Australia in time.

According to reporters in Australia, Abhimanyu got caught early on in the innings. Ruturaj Gaikwad was not feeling to to succumb to the short balls by Harshit Rana, as he hooked him for a six. Virat Kohli was also seen taking two catches in the slip. Ruturaj did well against India’s star off-spinner R Ashwin.

Jasprit Bumrah troubled the batters since they took a few hit to their bodies. Mohammed Siraj, who has not been in the best form also managed to get a few outside edges. Akash Deep and Harshit Rana also did bowling.

Ishan Kishan came out to bat, though he fell to the ground in an attempt to make a sweep. Sarfaraz Khan was treated with continuous short balls. Opener Yashasvi Jaiswal was also given the duty to bowl, where Ishan shot him for a massive six.
