Kohli’s storm, RCB defeated GT by chasing 205 runs
In IPL 2026, Royal Challengers Bangalore registered a spectacular victory by defeating Gujarat Titans by 5 wickets in a thrilling match. This was Bengaluru’s fifth win this season, with which the team reached second place in the points table. Even the brilliant century innings of Gujarat batsman Sai Sudarshan could not help the team win.
Sudarshan scored 100 runs
In this match played at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, Gujarat Titans batted first and scored a strong score of 205 runs. The foundation of this big innings was laid by Sai Sudarshan, who scored 100 runs in 58 balls. This was the third century of his IPL career. Brilliant shots and excellent timing were seen in his innings, but he did not get much support from the other batsmen.
RCB’s start to chase the target was not very special and the team soon lost the first wicket. After this, Virat Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal batted aggressively while handling the innings. There was a brilliant partnership of 115 runs in 59 balls between the two for the second wicket, which changed the course of the match. Padikkal batted brilliantly and completed his half-century in just 20 balls and scored 55 runs in 27 balls. Kohli also performed strongly and scored 81 runs in 44 balls. Thanks to this brilliant innings, Kohli once again won the Orange Cap.
Krunal Pandya and Tim David showed restraint
However, at one time it seemed that RCB would easily win the match, when the team’s score was 141 runs for one wicket. But suddenly the team’s batting faltered and four wickets fell within 16 balls, due to which the match reached an exciting turn. In this stressful time, Krunal Pandya and Tim David showed patience and led the team to victory. Pandya scored 23 runs in 12 balls, while Tim David remained unbeaten after scoring 10 runs.
