Kolkata vs Punjab match cancelled, rain hampered; Both teams get 1-1 points
The match of Punjab Kings vs Kolkata Knight Riders at Eden Gardens, Kolkata has been canceled due to rain. The match could last only for 3.4 overs. Then heavy rain started knocking. When the rain stopped late at night, the match had to be canceled due to the ground being wet.
This was the 12th match of this IPL season. Kolkata captain Ajinkya Rahane won the toss and decided to bat first. Kolkata had scored 25 runs at the loss of two wickets in 3.4 overs. After this the match had to be stopped due to heavy rain.

The cut-off time for the five-over match was set at 11:14 pm. However, the rain stopped before that. But the match had to be canceled due to excessive water in the field. Both the teams have got one point each.
Punjab Kings have played 3 matches in this season of IPL. Of these, two were won and one match i.e. today’s match remained inconclusive. On top of the points table with 5 points.

Kolkata had a bad start
Kolkata got its first blow on the score of 12 runs. Finn Allen had to return to the pavilion after scoring six runs on 7 balls. Punjab Kings bowler Xavier Bartlett made him his victim. Just two balls later, Bartlett also dismissed Cameron Green. At that time Kolkata’s score was 16 runs in 1.6 overs at the loss of two wickets.
Green faced two balls and could score only 4 runs. Unbeaten captain Rahane was at the crease after scoring 8 runs in 6 balls and Angkrish Raghuvanshi scored 7 runs in 7 balls. Just then the rain started knocking. For Punjab, Arshdeep gave 16 runs in two overs. Whereas Xavier Bartlett was able to bowl only the fourth ball of his second over.
