The unrest escalated into violent outbursts at the Yubha Bharati Krirangan stadium, with disgruntled fans hurling bottles and chairs in protest against the mismanagement.Following the eruption of chaos, West Bengal Director General of Police Rajeev Kumar confirmed the detention and subsequent arrest of the chief organizer, identified in local reports as Shatadru Dutta. Police officials assured the public that an FIR has been lodged and action will be taken against those responsible for the mismanagement.
Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, who was on her way to attend the event herself, expressed her shock and deep disturbance over the incident She issued a sincere apology to Lionel Messi and his fans for the unfortunate turn of events, vowing to establish a committee to investigate all aspects of the mismanagement, including fixing responsibility and recommending preventative measures for future events. Furthermore, police officials have pledged to ensure that attendees receive refunds for their tickets, promising to oversee the process.
