Easy way to make and cook rice cakes
Making teok-bokki starts with preparing its base i.e. ‘rice cake’. First of all, put rice flour in hot water and knead it a little hard. After this, roll it with hands and give it a long cylindrical shape and cook it thoroughly in steam. When the rice cake is cooked well, take it out in a plate and keep it to cool. Your rice cake is completely ready, now it’s time to make its life i.e. spicy sauce.
Prepare spicy sauce like this and apply final tadka
Now take a pan and add some water to it and boil it well. Add gochujang paste (or Kashmiri red chili powder), sugar, soy sauce, vinegar and finely chopped garlic to this boiling water. When this mixture boils well, add the previously prepared rice cakes into it. Also add chopped cabbage and spring onion. Cook the rice cakes in this spicy sauce until it thickens well. When the rice cakes absorb the sauce and are cooked well, turn off the gas. Finally, add some sesame oil, white sesame seeds and spring onion for garnishing.
