Kuka, Saigon Hi-Tech Park partner to launch Automation 2.0 Technology Center
The center combines training, hands-on practice and technology applications to help bridge the gap between academic education and the practical needs of manufacturers as Industry 4.0 adoption accelerates.
The facility was established through a strategic partnership between industrial automation company Kuka Vietnam and SHTP Training, focusing on robotics, automation, digital transformation and Industry 4.0 technologies. The collaboration includes curriculum development, practical training, workshops and technology demonstration programs for students, engineers and industry professionals.
SHTP Training, which operates under the Saigon Hi-Tech Park Management Board, specializes in developing skilled talent in automation, robotics, artificial intelligence, semiconductor technology and digital transformation. Through its academia-industry-technology partnership model, the center connects education with industry to prepare a workforce for evolving manufacturing needs.
The facility features an integrated automation system covering a range of industrial applications, including SCARA and six-axis industrial robots, collaborative robots, autonomous forklifts and autonomous mobile robots (AMRs).
Its main attraction is a demonstration station that simulates a compact smart manufacturing and intralogistics process, where robots coordinate handling, processing, transportation and delivery within an integrated workflow.

As manufacturers accelerate digital transformation, demand for practical, industry-ready skills continues to grow. The center is designed to provide learners with hands-on experience using technologies already deployed in modern factories, particularly in the automotive, electronics, manufacturing and consumer goods sectors.
Kuka Vietnam, a strategic technology partner of the Vietnam Robotics Association (VRA), will also work with the association to support Vietnam’s industrial robotics ecosystem by contributing to national robotics standards, training curricula and competency assessment frameworks for engineers and technicians.
Huynh Phong Phu, the company’s general director, said the center reflects its long-term commitment to workforce development in Vietnam.
“The establishment reaffirms Kuka’s long-term commitment to supporting Vietnam in developing a highly skilled workforce. We believe hands-on training with real industrial systems is the most effective way to bridge the gap between education and industry needs,” he said.
