Talking about one of the yoga asanas, ‘Kukkutasana’ is a Sanskrit word, in which ‘kukkuta’ means ‘rooster’ and ‘asana’ means ‘pose’. While doing this asana, the body looks like a chicken, due to which this asana is called ‘Kukkutasana’. There is some difficulty in doing this asana, but regular practice provides many benefits to the body. To do this asana, first of all sit in Padmasana posture on the yoga mat. After this, slowly remove your right hand from between the right thigh and calf and later repeat the same process with the left hand. Place both the palms firmly on the ground and keep in mind that there should be a distance of about 3 to 4 inches between the palms. Now take a deep breath and apply pressure on the palms and lift the entire body above the ground. During this, your neck should be straight and eyes should be focused towards the front. Stay in this posture for 15 to 20 seconds and then slowly bring the body down and return to the Padmasana position.
