Actress Kunika Sadanand made some shocking claims about veteran singer Kumar Sanu in a new podcast and claimed that the two dated for five years and then ended the relationship, but their relationship was a top secret. He also revealed that the singer had once tried to commit suicide by getting drunk due to his “difficult relationship” with his wife. During a conversation with Siddharth Kannan, Kunika revealed that she was attracted to Sanu when she was trying to make a place for herself in the industry and the singer was at his peak. Recalling the incident that brought them closer, the actress revealed. “He was in a very difficult relationship with his wife Rita. We met when I was in Ooty for a shoot and he had gone there on a holiday with his sister and nephew.
We were having drinks together once and he got very drunk. He started crying and wanted to jump from the hotel window. He was very sad. We held them down,” he revealed. He added that after returning from the trip, Sanu separated from his wife Rita and started living close to Kunika's house. They fell in love and dated each other for five years. Kunika also claimed that when Rita came to know about this affair, she said, “I was like a wife to him, I treated him like my husband.” , then he hit the actress's car with a hockey stick He said, “She used to come outside my house and shout. But I understood him. She wanted money for her kids, she wasn't wrong. She said she didn't want him back.” Sanu was married to his first wife Rita Bhattacharya in the 1980s, however, they divorced in 1994 when Rita became aware of the “other woman” in the singer's life. Well, Sanu has three children with Rita – Jiko, Jassi and Bigg Boss 14 fame Jaan.
