Kumbh Sankranti tomorrow, know the auspicious time and method of worship for charity.
Kumbh Sankranti, which falls between the farewell of Magh month and the welcome of Phalgun month, is considered a very auspicious and fruitful date in Hindu religion. According to astrological calculations, in the year 2026, Sun God is entering Aquarius on Friday, 13 February. This time, on this auspicious occasion, a rare coincidence of Vijaya Ekadashi is also taking place, due to which the religious and spiritual importance of Kumbh Sankranti has increased manifold.
This coincidence can prove to be a special boon for the devotees because the coming together of Ekadashi and Sankranti is considered to give very auspicious results in the scriptures. On this day, by joint worship of Sun God and Lord Vishnu, all the obstacles of life are removed and victory is achieved in every task.
Auspicious time and auspicious time of Sankranti
According to the Panchang, Sun God will transit in Aquarius on the morning of 13th February. In the scriptures, bathing and donating during the virtuous period and the great virtuous period have been described as best. Sankranti moment: 04:14 am. Punya Kaal: 07:01 am to 12:35 pm. Maha Punya Kaal (most auspicious) which is from 07:01 am to 08:53 am. Brahma Muhurta Special: Taking bath between 05:18 am to 06:10 am is considered extremely beneficial for health and good fortune.
Rare coincidence of Vijaya Ekadashi
This year Vijaya Ekadashi is also falling along with Kumbh Sankranti. According to religious texts, Ekadashi and Sankranti falling on the same day is considered extremely rare and auspicious. By worshiping both Lord Vishnu and Sun God in this combination, all kinds of obstacles in life are eliminated and the seeker attains victory, fame and prosperity.
Method of worship of Sun God
Wake up in the morning in Brahma Muhurta, take bath and wear clean clothes. Put water, red sandalwood, Akshat and red flowers in a copper pot and offer it to the Sun God. While offering Arghya, chant the mantra “Om Suryay Namah”. If possible, please recite Aditya Hridaya Stotra. By this method one gets the blessings of Sun God and positive energy is transmitted in life.
Special importance of bathing and charity
The tradition of bathing in holy rivers on the day of Kumbh Sankranti is centuries old. If it is not possible to go to the river bank, then take bath at home by mixing some Ganga water in the bath water. Donation made on this day provides inexhaustible virtue. Donation of sesame seeds is considered best for the blessings of Sun and Shani Dev. Providing food to the needy and donating warm clothes is extremely auspicious. By serving or donating a cow one gets special virtue on this day.
On this auspicious occasion, by bathing, donating and chanting, a person attains longevity, health and prosperity.
