Kumram Bheem Asifabad: Kumram Bheem Asifabad is among 73 districts across the country selected by Niti Aayog in collaboration with the Association for Voluntary Action (AVA) to be converted into a ‘child marriage-free’ district in one year.
Both Niti Aayog and the Association for Voluntary Action joined hands to focus on the most vulnerable regions of India to protect, empower and educate children, and aim to cover 15,000 villages in 104 blocks in the country recently.
Extending complete support to the initiative, SURE, a Hyderabad-based voluntary organisation, expressed solidarity and said that this collaboration between AVA and NITI Aayog gave them a new lease of enthusiasm and they were committed to making Kumram Bheem Asifabad district free from any kind of child exploitation including child labour, child trafficking, child marriage and child abuse.
Both SURE and AVA are partners of Just Rights for Children, a network of over 250 NGOs working for child protection and child rights in 416 districts of the country.
