After this injury, he will not be able to take part in the remaining matches of Lanka Premier League 2026. Mendis got injured during LPL

Right-handed wicketkeeper-batsman Kusal Mendis was captaining Colombo Caps this season. Last Sunday, during the match against Kandy Royals, he got injured in his right hamstring while trying to score runs. After this he had to leave the field and now his journey from the tournament is over.

Sri Lanka Cricket has also confirmed that Mendis will now begin his rehabilitation under the supervision of the medical team at the National High Performance Centre.

The series against India is in danger

Earlier, his bat had also performed well in Pakistan Super League 2026. He had scored 550 runs in 11 innings. He remained among the most successful batsmen in the entire tournament.
