Kusha Kapila spoke on the acting entry of social media stars
The debate has been going on for a long time regarding the increasing interference of social media influencers in Bollywood. Many artists believe that giving opportunities in films only on the basis of social media followers is creating a challenge for the professional artists of the industry.
Entertainment News: With the increasing influence of social media and digital platforms, a big change is also being seen in the entertainment industry. In the last few years, many social media influencers and content creators have entered the world of films and web series. This change has given rise to a new debate in Bollywood and the acting world—has the popularity of followers become more important than acting talent?
Amidst this debate, actress and content creator Kusha Kapila has openly expressed her opinion. Kusha Kapila, who made a successful entry into the world of acting through content creation, says that the concerns of professional actors are completely justified, but an artiste’s talent should not be judged only by his background.
“Getting lead roles on the basis of followers raises questions”
During an interview, Kusha Kapila said that many trained actors learn and struggle for years to act, so if a person gets leading roles only because of social media following, it is natural to raise questions. He said,
“Actors are right to think that if one is getting work only because of followers, then it can be a matter of concern. Acting is a serious art and it requires training, hard work and experience.”
However, Kusha also clarified that every content creator should not be viewed from the same perspective.
Hard work and willingness to learn are most important
Kusha Kapila believes that if a content creator takes acting seriously, attends acting workshops, trains himself and tries to learn continuously, then he too should get opportunities in the field of acting. He said,
“If a content creator takes the time to learn acting, works hard and improves his skills, then it would not be right for him to say that he is in the industry just because of social media popularity.”
Giving an example, she took the name of popular digital star Bhuvan Bam and said that he has proved his talent by creating his own content. According to Kusha, “An artist can come from anywhere. All that is important is that he has talent and constantly works hard to improve himself.”
Digital platform changed the picture of entertainment industry
Entertainment experts believe that social media and OTT platforms have significantly changed the structure of the traditional film industry. While earlier it was considered extremely difficult to enter films and TV, now digital platforms have given both recognition and opportunities to new faces. Kusha Kapila has also been a part of this change. He made his mark through social media content and gradually made his place in the world of acting.
When asked if people now recognize her as an actress more than a social media influencer, she responded in the affirmative. He said that many audiences now know him through his acting projects. Recalling her career journey, Kusha said that she started acting with the Netflix film Ghost Stories. After this he continuously worked in different projects and focused on improving his acting skills.
She said, “I am moving forward in my career in a very balanced manner. I believe that whenever a big opportunity comes, it is important to be fully prepared for it.”
Has worked in many films and series
Kusha Kapila has so far appeared in many popular films and web series. These include projects like Plan A Plan B, Selfiee, Sukhee, Thank You For Coming, Masaba Masaba and Case Toh Banta Hai. Recently she appeared in the role of a lawyer in the second season of actor Ravi Kishan’s popular show Mamla Legal Hai, which received a good response from the audience.
