Kushinagar: Credibility and truth paramount in journalism: Suryapratap Shahi, challenges of rural journalists raised in provincial conference

Kushinagar. The provincial conference and felicitation ceremony of the Rural Journalists Association was organized in a private hotel located in Padrauna, in which Agriculture Minister of the State Government Surya Pratap Shahi attended as the chief guest.

On this occasion, he said that despite the changing times and the influence of the digital era, even today newspaper news is the main basis of credibility. He appealed to the journalists to avoid sensational news and give priority to factual and responsible journalism. He also said that journalism is a responsible work, which needs to be done with impartiality and honesty.

Special guest in the program, Deoria MP Shashank Mani Tripathi said that it is the responsibility of journalists to avoid half-truths and present the complete truth to the society and play an active role in positive campaigns. Whereas Kushinagar MP Vijay Kumar Dubey described journalism in rural areas as extremely challenging and assured cooperation in the interests and struggles of journalists.

The conference was also addressed by Uttar Pradesh Seed Development Corporation Chairman (Minister of State Status) Rajeshwar Singh, State Backward Classes Commission member Phool Badan Kushwaha, MLA Mohan Verma, Manish Jaiswal (Mantu), Vivekanand Pandey and Vinay Prakash Gond and other public representatives.

Program coordinator and District President of Rural Journalists Association, Shailesh Kumar Upadhyay welcomed the guests and honored them by presenting them clothes and mementos. During this, a seven-point demand letter was also handed over to the chief guest on behalf of the organization. The program was conducted by UN Inter College spokesperson Anup Kumar Mishra. State President Mahendra Nath Singh, Vice President Captain Virendra Singh, Om Prakash Dwivedi and a large number of journalists and distinguished citizens were present in the conference.
