Lahore Court rejects actress Nazish Jahangir’s bail in fraud case

A Lahore court, on Friday, has canceled actress Nazish Jahangir’s interim bail in a fraud case filed by the Defence C police station.

The court rejected her bail because of lack of follow-up.

The fraud charge was brought by fellow actor Azan Aswad Haroon, who claimed Nazish had borrowed a car and Rs 2.5 million for two months but failed to return either after the deadline passed.

While Jahangir’s bail was canceled, her co-accused Sikandar saw his temporary bail extended until early October.

With high-profile figures involved, the case has drawn public attention to the legal struggles faced by celebrities.

This isn’t the first time Nazish Jahangir has faced legal trouble.

Back in 2020, she was arrested by the FIA’s cybercrime unit in Karachi over allegations of harassment and spreading fake messages and videos.

The charges were filed after Fatima Sohail, ex-wife of actor Mohsin Abbas Haider, accused Nazish and Haider of online harassment.

Fatima later announced that the FIA had found both Nazish and Mohsin guilty of the charges, following a lengthy legal dispute.

Fatima had earlier accused Mohsin of having an affair with Nazish and of abusing her. Nazish, however, has consistently denied any wrongdoing.
