Pakistan Super League again ‘tainted’, police interrogated cricketers, chaos broke out in hotel over wrongdoing
PSL Security Breach: In Pakistan Super League 2026, Lahore Qalandars seem to be embroiled in controversies one after the other. First the case of ball tampering came to light and now the team has also been accused of violating security rules. This controversy has increased further after the match played against Karachi Kings, due to which the image of the team has been affected.
Allegation of violation of safety rules
According to reports, Punjab Police has made serious allegations against Lahore Qalandars. It was told that four unknown people were brought inside the hotel where the team was staying. This was against security protocols, especially when the tournament is being held amid tight security. The names of Shaheen Afridi and Sikandar Raza have come up in this case. It is alleged that these two players ignored the rules and allowed their acquaintances to enter the hotel.
Punjab Police raised demand for action
Taking this matter seriously, Punjab Police has lodged a complaint through mail to the PSL officials. He has demanded an investigation from the Pakistan Cricket Board and the league administration and strict action. The report also revealed that Sikandar Raza had earlier sought permission for his acquaintances to enter the room, but it was rejected. Despite this, both the players violated the rules and called him inside and he remained present in the hotel for about three hours.
What can be the action?
Now all eyes are on the action of PCB and PSL administration in this whole matter. Violations of safety rules are considered serious, in such cases players can be fined heavily. The tournament is currently being played in an empty stadium due to security reasons, hence such negligence is being considered a big matter.
