For every working person, EPF account is not just a saving account, but also a strong stick in old age and the biggest support for social security. But sometimes due to lack of information or negligence of the company, lakhs of employees are deprived of this security cover. Now the Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has taken a tremendous relief step for crores of such employees and companies. The Ministry of Labor and Employment has launched ‘Employee Enrollment Scheme-2025’ (EES-2025), which has brought a golden chance to correct the old mistakes.
After all, what is this ‘Golden Window’?
The biggest objective of this new scheme is to bring under the ambit of EPF those employees who till now were outside it due to some reason or the other. EPFO has opened a special compliance window for employers for the next six months.
During this period, companies across the country can include in the PF scheme those employees who were working between July 1, 2017 and October 31, 2025, but did not get the benefit of EPF. This scheme is no less than an amnesty scheme for those companies which have not yet deducted the PF of their employees. Now she can come forward herself and get her employees their rights without any legal hassle.
Fine of only Rs 100, that too nominal!
The biggest relief is that if the company corrects its mistake, it will have to pay a nominal penalty of only Rs 100. Where the employees’ share was not deducted earlier, the company will have to deposit only its share, interest under section 7Q and administrative charges. The meaning is clear – you will be exempted from the compulsion of depositing the employee’s share of old years. This will greatly reduce the financial burden on companies and the future of millions of employees will be secured.
