PM Awas Yojana: There is great news for the people who are dreaming of building a house under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. The Uttar Pradesh government has made it clear that now the waiting time of the beneficiaries is about to end. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath himself has announced that under the PM Awas Yojana, Rs 1 lakh will be sent directly to the bank accounts of the people as the first installment. This amount is being given to start house construction so that poor and needy families can get a solid roof.
When will the first installment of Rs 1 lakh come?
CM Yogi Adityanath said that the first installment will be released during a special program on January 18. This program will be organized at Indira Gandhi Pratishthan, Lucknow. On the same day, an amount of Rs 1 lakh will be sent to the accounts of the beneficiaries through DBT i.e. Direct Benefit Transfer. Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar will also participate in this program.
More than two lakh people will get benefits
According to the Chief Minister, there are about two lakh beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana in Uttar Pradesh. Money will be transferred to all these accounts in a phased manner. The objective of the scheme is to enable eligible families to start construction of their houses without any hindrance. The government will keep complete records of every beneficiary so that the money of the scheme reaches the right place.
1500 beneficiaries will be included in the program
About 1500 beneficiaries have been directly invited to this big program to be held on January 18. The remaining beneficiaries will join this program through online medium. The government has instructed the administration in all the districts to organize programs there too in the presence of local public representatives. This will give people information about the scheme and also build confidence.
Government’s focus on providing permanent houses
CM Yogi Adityanath said that the purpose of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana is not just to give money but to provide safe and permanent housing to the people. The government will also talk to the beneficiaries and get information about the progress of their house construction. Urban Development Minister AK Sharma and senior officials of the department have also been instructed to be present in the program.
