According to information received, the Lucknow University administration sealed the main entrance of the historic Lal Baradari building and its mosque for security reasons. Large barricades were also erected on the sides of the mosque. The students were enraged by this sudden action, the students gathered in large numbers in front of Lal Baradari and started raising slogans. The students alleged that the administration closed this ancient religious site and heritage site without any prior notice or consultation. This historic structure was built about 200 years ago, in 1800, by Nawab Nasiruddin Hyder. This building is so ancient that it was established long before Lucknow University came into existence.
