What is the whole matter?
This controversy dates back to when Lalu Prasad Yadav was the Railway Minister between 2004 and 2009. It is alleged that during that time, land was given to the candidates and their families in exchange for appointments on Group-D posts of Railways. According to the investigating agencies, valuable lands in and around Patna were transferred in the name of Lalu family members or their companies at throwaway prices or as donations. In the politics of Bihar, this issue has been the center of heated rhetoric between the ruling party and the opposition for a long time. The court proceedings in the next few days will decide what will be the legal direction of these serious allegations against the Lalu family.
