Landman Season 3: Production details, cast updates and release window – Everything we know so far

Taylor Sheridan’s high-stakes West Texas oil drama has officially struck gold for Paramount+. Following record-breaking viewership numbers, the network didn’t hesitate to order another round of dusty family drama and corporate warfare.

Fast-Track Renewal & Production Schedule

Paramount+ officially greenlit Landman for Season 3 in December 2025, right in the middle of Season 2’s airing schedule.

While co-creator Christian Wallace originally targeted a spring production start, series lead Billy Bob Thornton later revealed that filming has been pushed back to late August 2026. Shifting the production timeline means the cast and crew will avoid the absolute peak of the brutal Texas summer heat, but it also tightly compresses the post-production window.

Release window is expect to be in 2027

Because both Season 1 and Season 2 enjoyed mid-November premiere dates, viewers initially hoped to see Season 3 before the end of the year. However, with filming not kicking off until late August, a 2026 rollout is highly unlikely.

Industry expectations point to a 2027 release window on Paramount+. While an optimistic micro-chance remains for a very late December 2026 drop if Taylor Sheridan’s team manages a miraculous post-production rush, a premiere in early 2027 is the much more realistic scenario.

Cast Updates & Massive Pay Raises

The core ensemble anchoring the Norris family and the surrounding oil business is set to return. Paramount is banking heavily on this star power, reportedly rewarding the main cast with significant salary bumps heading into Season 3:

  • Billy Bob Thornton (Tommy Norris): The undisputed anchor of the show remains locked in, having originally signed a four-year contract.
  • Demi Moore (Cami Miller) & Ali Larter (Angela Norris): Both stars secured major per-episode salary increases. Moore’s salary has reportedly climbed to around $750,000 per episode for the upcoming season.
  • Sam Elliott (T.L. Norris): Despite only signing an initial two-year deal, Elliott confirmed he is “all in” and eager to see where Sheridan takes his character next.
  • Andy Garcia (Danny “Gallino” Morrell): After establishing a massive presence, Garcia’s cartel boss persona is set to loom larger than ever over Tommy’s new venture.

After serving as a central titan in Season 1, Monty Miller was permanently written out of the main narrative, meaning Hamm will not return.

Season 3 Plot: What Lies Ahead?

The dramatic shift at the end of Season 2 completely upends the dynamic for Season 3.

The New Operation: Tommy Norris is no longer just a corporate fixer managing someone else’s fires. He’s now running CTT Oil Exploration and Cattle, an independent operation he established for his family and trusted crew.

The Cartel Shadow: The entire venture is funded by a massive $62 million check written by cartel kingpin Gallino (Andy Garcia). Gallino made explicit, dangerous threats toward Tommy’s family when funding the project, ensuring that any business mishap or financial loss in Season 3 will carry lethal stakes.

Next-Gen Drama: The new season will continue exploring the evolution of Cooper (Jacob Lofland) and Ariana (Paulina Chávez) working the roughneck scene, alongside Ainsley (Michelle Randolph) navigating her complex personal life.
