Langur pushed from the roof, 11 year old girl died, terror of monkeys since two months
Balrampur A tragic accident in the Barhwa range area of Soheldev Wildlife Sanctuary of Haraiya Satgharwa district plunged the entire village into mourning. An 11-year-old innocent girl playing on the terrace was pushed by a langur at around 5 pm on Friday evening in village Panchayat Gauramafi of police station Harraiya Satgharwa, due to which she fell down. The girl died during treatment. This incident created chaos in the entire family.
On Friday evening, 11-year-old daughter of village resident Ashok Shubhi was playing with other children on the terrace of her house. Then a langur came there and pushed Shubhi. As soon as she was pushed, the girl fell down from the roof. Due to the fall, she suffered serious head injury and became unconscious. As soon as the information about the accident was received, there was an uproar among the family members. The family members immediately reached Joint Hospital Balrampur with Shubhi in a private vehicle.
The doctors there referred him to Bahraich considering his condition to be very serious due to head injury. But Shubhi died on the way to Bahraich. As soon as the news of the girl’s death was heard, there was mourning in the house and the entire village. The villagers say that for the last two months, there is terror of langur monkeys in this entire area. A group of more than two dozen monkeys harass people every day.
Children and the elderly are their biggest targets. The villagers had already informed the responsible officials of the Forest Department about this problem, but no concrete action was taken by the department. The villagers allege that if the department had taken timely action, perhaps this accident could have been avoided. In this regard, Ranger Brijesh Singh Parmar said that information about the incident has been received and a team will be sent to investigate.
He has advised the villagers of villages adjacent to the forest to remain alert. However, the villagers are not satisfied with this reply of the department and are demanding concrete action.
