NEW DELHI: Sri Lanka Cricket has appointed former pace great Lasith Malinga as consultant fast bowling coach for the national men’s team ahead of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026.
His short-term stint will run from 15 December to 25 January, focusing on strengthening the fast-bowling group during the build-up to the tournament.
Malinga will work closely with Sri Lanka’s bowlers, sharing his expertise in T20 cricket, especially in death bowling. The board hopes to benefit from his vast experience and deep understanding of the shortest format as the team prepares for a home World Cup.
