Tezzbuzz Desk- The great festival of democracy has reached its final stage in West Bengal. Today, under the second and last phase of the state, voting is going on on 142 seats in 7 districts. Long queues of voters are being seen at the polling stations since morning and people are enthusiastically exercising their franchise.
In this phase, the fate of a total of 1448 candidates is being captured in EVMs. Earlier on April 23, voting was held on 152 seats in the first phase, in which more than 92 percent voting was recorded. Now with the second phase, the picture of the entire election will become almost clear.
The administration has made extensive arrangements for security. More than two lakh central forces personnel have been deployed for the second phase of voting, while around 40,000 state police personnel are also on duty. Tight security arrangements have been made, especially in Kolkata, where the maximum number of 273 companies have been deployed. Under the supervision of the Election Commission, extra vigilance is being maintained in the entire state, especially in sensitive areas of West Bengal, so that the voting can be conducted in a peaceful and fair manner.
Now all eyes are on the voting percentage and election results, which will decide the political direction of the state in the coming days.
