Last warning for PAN card holders: Your PAN will become useless from April 1, correct it immediately at home
News India Live, Digital Desk: If you are also a PAN card holder, then this news is no less than a big shock for you. Many major financial rules are going to change across the country from tomorrow i.e. 1st April, the most important of which is keeping your PAN card active. The Income Tax Department has made it clear that if the spelling or other information of the name recorded in your PAN card and Aadhaar card does not match, then your PAN card will be completely deactivated from April 1. At present, it is mandatory to link PAN and Aadhaar, but in case of data mismatch, the linking becomes invalid. If you are also struggling with this problem of name spelling, then there is no need to panic now. Let us know how you can correct your name online from your mobile while sitting at home to avoid this big problem. Why will your most important financial document become inactive? In fact, to prevent financial fraud and make the country’s tax system transparent, the government had made it mandatory to link PAN with Aadhaar long ago. But this process of linking is considered successful only when your name, date of birth (DOB) and gender are exactly the same in both the important documents. If the name in your Aadhaar card is ‘Ramesh Kumar’ and in the PAN card it is ‘Ramesh’ or ‘R Kumar’, then the system considers it as ‘data mismatch’. Due to this technical flaw, all such PAN cards will be declared invalid from April 1, whose data does not exactly match with Aadhaar. You will have to face huge losses if your PAN card becomes junk. If your PAN card becomes inactive, your financial life will almost come to a standstill. The first and biggest disadvantage will be that you will not be able to open a new account in any bank. Apart from this, it will become completely impossible to do any bank transaction, fixed deposit (FD), mutual fund or stock market investment of more than Rs 50 thousand. You will also not be able to file your Income Tax Return (ITR) and if any of your tax refunds are stuck, they will also be withheld. Not only this, if the PAN card becomes invalid, the bank will also deduct TDS on your money at double the rate i.e. at a huge rate of 20 percent. Correct the spelling of your name in 2 minutes at home using your smartphone (Online Process). If the name is wrongly printed in your PAN card and is correct in Aadhaar, then you can correct it very easily by visiting the official website of NSDL (Protean) or UTITSL (UTIITSL).
