NZ reached second position after defeating WI, Team India below Pakistan in points table

On the basis of two wins and one draw, New Zealand has now reached second place in the table, where it has left behind India and South Africa. This 2-0 series win was possible mainly due to the excellent batting of New Zealand openers Devon Conway and captain Tom Latham. Conway created history by scoring a double century and a century in the same Test and became the first New Zealand batsman to do so. Latham also scored two brilliant centuries. In this way, the pair of Conway and Latham became the first opening pair to achieve this feat in first-class cricket.

Australia, on the other hand, continued their dominance in the Ashes series. In the third Test played in Adelaide, Australia defeated England by 82 runs and won the series with two matches left. England had already lost in Perth and Brisbane and now trailed 0-3. With this, his hopes of winning back the Ashes are completely over. Now England also seems to be in danger of losing the series 5-0.

Australia has been unbeaten so far in the WTC 2025–27 and remains firmly on top of the table with six consecutive wins. He has a total of 72 points in his account and his points percentage (PCT) is 100. New Zealand is in second place with 77.78 PCT with 28 points out of 36. Defending champion South Africa is at number three. They have won three of their four Tests and have a PCT of 75. India suffered a bad defeat against South Africa in the home series, after which the Indian team has slipped to sixth position with 48.15 PCT in nine Tests.

England are at seventh position, while Bangladesh and West Indies are at eighth and ninth position respectively. According to the WTC points system, a win gets 12 points, a tie gets 6 points and a draw gets 4 points. Teams are ranked based on percentage of points won. The top two teams will qualify for the WTC finals to be held in 2027, while teams may also be deducted points due to slow over rates.
