Lee Min Ho recounts unfortunate accident which led to casualties and Jung Il Woo’s severe injury

Lee Min Ho is set to make his television debut with the space romance drama When the Stars Gossip. He appeared on You Quiz on the Block as a guest and discussed a variety of engagements prior to the eagerly awaited broadcast.

The actor recounted that he had to heal for nearly seven months following a catastrophic vehicle accident. He described the incident that occurred in 2006 while he and his close buddy, well-known actor Jung Il Woo, were heading to Gangwon.

He disclosed that their vehicle collided with an intoxicated driver of another vehicle. The offender crossed the center line while driving under the influence, which resulted in a serious collision.

According to Lee Min Ho, he suffered several severe wounds, such as broken thighbones and torn cartilage. “I was unable to do anything but lie down,” he said, recalling the agonizing physical and mental agony he endured while his stay in the hospital.

All of the passengers and the driver of the second vehicle perished in the tragic collision, which claimed many lives. Lee Min Ho’s friend, Jung Il Woo, also sustained injuries and was subsequently found to have a brain aneurysm.

But he bounced back faster and went back to acting, rapidly becoming well-known for High Kick. The Boys Over Flowers star said he had conflicting feelings about Jung Il Woo’s triumph, recalling one of the saddest periods of his life.

“I wanted to cheer for him and celebrate his success wholeheartedly, but part of me felt impatient. I wanted to be recognized and make my mark in society, too. I wondered why I couldn’t fully celebrate for my friend and felt conflicted;” Lee Min Ho stated

On the work front, Lee Min Ho is now getting ready for the 2025 debut of When the Stars Gossip, his next drama in which Gong Hyo Jin co-stars. He will portray an OB-GYN who, as a tourist with covert plans, embarks on a space mission.
