Legal action taken by destroying 10 kg of adulterated Dalda

Register a complaint on adulteration in food items on toll free number 1800112100 or inform the Food Safety and Drug Administration Department located at the Collectorate.

Bhadohi – As per the instructions of Commissioner, Food Safety and Drug Administration, Lucknow and District Magistrate Vishal Singh, in view of Diwali festival in district Bhadohi, Assistant Commissioner (Food)-II for effective prevention of sale/storage of possible adulteration in food/drinks in view of Diwali festival. Drug Administration Department Shashi Shekhar and Sub-District Magistrate Gyanpur Arun Giri inspected sweet establishments and other shops in Gopiganj Bazaar, Jangiganj, Bhadohi. Also, on the basis of suspicion of violation of Food Safety and Standards Act 2006, a total of 07 samples of Khoya, Paneer, Ghee, Cashew, Mustard Oil, Peda were collected and sent to the lab for testing.

10 kg Dalda was destroyed in Municipality Bhadohi. After investigation, action will be taken as per rules under the Food Safety and Standards Act 2006. Also, food businessmen were directed not to adulterate the food items in any way. Use food colors and works in limited quantity and display the license/registration certificate of the food establishment at an easily visible place. Also, to ensure cleanliness in the kitchen area, CCTV cameras should be installed in the kitchen and its visibility should be displayed in the consumer area.

How to check fake khoya: If the color of khoya turns purple to dark blue when the tincture is added to it, then it is fake khoya. Complaint of any kind of adulteration can be lodged on the departmental toll free number – 1800112100. Immediate action will be taken in the interest of public health.
