- 2 cups cooked rice
- juice of 1 lemon
- 2 tbsp oil
- 1 tsp mustard seeds
- 8-10 curry leaves
- 2 dried red chillies
- 2 green chillies (chopped)
- 2 tbsp peanuts
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- salt to taste
- 1 tsp chana dal
- 1 tsp urad dal
How to make Lemon Rice
Making lemon rice is very easy. For this, heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds in it and let it crackle. Then add chana dal, urad dal and peanuts and fry until light golden.
Now add dry red chilli, green chilli and curry leaves. Fry for a few seconds so that the aroma starts coming out. Then add turmeric powder and mix well.
Now add the cooked rice to the pan and mix slowly so that the rice does not break. Add salt and mix well. After turning off the gas, add lemon juice to the rice and mix gently. This will give fresh and sour taste to the rice.
Serve hot lemon rice garnished with coriander leaves. You can also eat it with coconut chutney or pickle. Along with adults, children will also like its taste.
