Lhuan-dre Pretorius Blasts First T20 Hundred as Unicorns Humiliate MI New York
A maiden T20 century from Lhuan-dre Pretorius has set up a massive 9-wicket victory for San Francisco Unicorns against MI New York in the MLC 2026 clash played at Dallas.
He went on to smash 102* runs off 52 deliveries, which included 10 fours and 5 sixes as Unicorns completed the chase in the 16th over. By this win, San Francisco Unicorns retained the top spot in the MLC 2026 points table.
Being invited to bat first, MI New York’s Ryan Rickelton and Quinton de Kock opened the innings while Xavier Bartlett opened the bowling attack.
Matthew Short struck twice brilliantly inside the power play to bag the wickets of Quinton de Kock (6) and Monank Patel (1).
With Ryan Rickelton and Nicholas Pooran at the crease, MI New York scored 50 runs in the power play.
Matthew Short completed his three-wicket haul, dismissing Rickelton for 35 runs. Despite a decent contribution of 32 runs from Sunny Patel in the middle order, MI New York suffered a batting collapse as Aaron Hardie and Haris Rauf dominated the batters with their stunning spell.
By the end of 20 overs, MI New York lost 9 wickets to score 143 runs. Haris Rauf and Aaron Hardie bagged two wickets each in their respective spells.

Chasing a 144-run target, Lhuan-dre Pretorius and Finn Allen opened the innings while Trent Boult opened the bowling attack. The duo made a decent start, scoring 52 runs in the power play.
Romario Shepherd broke the crucial partnership, dismissing Allen for 20 runs. However, Matthew Short came to bat at No.3 and played second fiddle as Pretorius went on a slam fifty and continued to bat aggressively, aiming to complete the chase quickly.
Lhuan-dre Pretorius went to complete the chase with a four and also smashed his maiden T20 century. On the other hand, Matthew Short remained unbeaten with 19 runs as San Francisco Unicorns secured 9 wicket victory.
