Godda: A court in Jharkhand's Godda district on Thursday sentenced a man to life imprisonment till death for raping two minor sisters two years ago. The incident took place in a village under the jurisdiction of Motiya police post.
The court found Bidhan Chandra Chaudhary guilty of the crime and sentenced him to life imprisonment till death. It also imposed a fine of Rs 2 lakh on him. In case of default, he will have to serve two more years of imprisonment.
The court sentenced the convict to seven years imprisonment under the POCSO Act and imposed a fine of Rs 1 lakh. If he does not pay the fine, he will have to undergo an additional sentence of one year. All the sentences will run concurrently.
