Lift Horror Again in Greater Noida West: Woman trapped for half an hour
Once again a big question has arisen regarding lift safety in high-rise societies of Greater Noida West. The latest incident at Himalaya Pride Society not only scared the residents but also exposed the maintenance system. A woman who was using the lift as usual suddenly got stuck in the middle of the road and kept waiting for help for about half an hour.
The increasing heat and suffocation inside the lift made the situation more serious. The woman’s health started deteriorating, due to which there was chaos on the spot. After a lot of effort, the AOA team of the society opened the lift and took the woman out safely, but this incident has raised many serious questions on the security arrangements.
How did the woman get stuck in the lift?
According to the information, the woman was going towards her floor in the lift as usual. As soon as the lift reached the 10th floor, there was a sudden jerk and the lift stopped directly on the 6th floor. After this the lift stopped completely and the woman got stuck inside.
Why was help not received for half an hour?
The woman remained trapped inside for a long time and kept waiting for help. After about 30 minutes, the AOA team of the society reached the spot and after a lot of effort, the lift was opened and the woman was taken out.
According to AOA President Seema Bhandari, the woman started feeling suffocated. She is a BP patient, hence her health deteriorated further.” However, after being taken out, immediate first aid was given, due to which her condition became stable.
Is this the first time this has happened?
This is not the first incident. Earlier also on the day of Ram Navami, 12 people including 10 children were stuck in the lift for about an hour in the same society. Such incidents happening again and again clearly show the negligence of lift maintenance.
Why is fear increasing among residents?
The people of the society say that despite continuous complaints, the builder and the maintenance team are not taking any concrete steps. The residents say that they pay maintenance charges every month, but despite this, even the basic facilities are not safe.
Is there a risk of a major accident?
A large number of children and elderly people also live in this society with a population of thousands of people. Frequent incidents of lift getting stuck have created an atmosphere of fear. People clearly say that if improvements are not made in time, a major accident may occur in the coming days.
