Lili Reinhart, Lola Tung get witchy in trailer of ‘Forbidden Fruits’

Lili Reinhart and Lola Tung slip into a witchy femme cult in the first trailer for Forbidden Fruits.

The teaser arrived perfectly on Friday, February 13, as it marked Galentine’s Day, a fitting occasion for the upcoming movie.

The horror comedy by IFC Films stars Riverdale alum Reinhart and The Summer I Turned Pretty star Tung, alongside Victoria Pedretti, Alexandra Shipp, Emma Chamberlain (in her movie debut), and Gabrielle Union.

As per the official synopsis, Reinhart stars as Apple, an employee at the mall shop Free Eden, who “runs a secret witchy femme cult in the store’s basement after hours.” She is the ring leader of the group of four retail employees inluding fellow members Cherry (Pedretti, 30) and Fig (Shipp, 34).

“You know, when I was a sales girl, not yet a saleswoman, I had a knack for making something out of nothing,” Reinhart’s Apple says at the beginning of the clip.

Free Eden isn’t exactly budget-friendly; one outfit carries a $400 tag, while a shopper gets hit with a $2,002.95 total at checkout.

The queens of Free Eden rule the mall until Pumpkin (Lola Tung) from Sister Salt’s pretzel stand enters the scene. The girls are instantly determined to pull her into their world.

“What are you up to tonight?” Reinhardt’s Apple asks Tung’s Pumpkin. She says that she was gonna go home before Apple cuts her off, and asks what she really wants to be up to tonight.

The synopsis added that “when new-hire Pumpkin (Tung) challenges their performative sisterhood, the women are forced to face their own poisons or succumb to a bloody fate.”

Forbidden Fruits arrives in theaters on March 27.
